But who is behind the management?
Lodovico Vaia, from an early age on, loved to spend the summers at his family's Fedaia Refuge, at the base of the Marmolada mountain. There his great passion for the mountains and mountaineering was born. First he became a porter (before the era of cablecars), then a mountain guide.
After years of experience/activity, during which he became a national instructor of Alpine Guides and Rescuers, he wanted to realize his dream of managing his own refuge, like his grandfather Lodovico.
Lodovico, together with his wife and three daughters, runs the Boè refuge since 1990.
Now the refuge is also lively with grandchildren, who spend their summers in the mountains.
The Vaia family, together with refuge's staff, wait for you in the lunar atmosphere of the Sella Plateau.
